30 Years of History Come Together in the METAL SLUG Ultimate Collection

METAL SLUG first hit arcades in 1996, and 2026 marks the series’ 30th anniversary. Now, a brand-new collection is heading to XBOX, bringing together 10 titles from across the series’ history, including the legendary location test build that was never officially released.

The METAL Slug Ultimate Collection contains 10 carefully selected titles from the METAL SLUG series, spanning arcades, home consoles, and handheld platforms. The lineup also includes the legendary location test build: a version that was used for public testing in arcades during development but never officially released, yet has been talked about among fans for years. For the first time ever, you can play this rare and previously unreleased version on a home console.

New Features for a More Accessible Experience

Customize your experience with a range of adjustable settings, including button layout, rapid-fire speed, difficulty, and time settings. Convenient gameplay support features have also been added, including infinite weapon ammo, mission selection, rewind, and quick save/load. All the charm of the originals is preserved, while new features make the games more accessible and enjoyable for both longtime fans and first-time players alike.

Packed With Replayability

Combat School Mode features conversations with your instructor that change based on your mission performance. Also included are score and clear time rankings, a replay feature, a visual gallery, and a sound player, letting you enjoy the world of METAL SLUG from angles beyond just gameplay. Available features and modes vary by title.
