- The N90 Max is priced at 299,900 yuan ($44,170) in pre-sales and the N70 Max at 259,900 yuan, below the 339,000 yuan Tesla Model Y L.
- Both models will officially launch in September, with Pro and standard versions to follow.
Xiaomi (HKEX: 1810) formally introduced Sky Nomad, its second vehicle product series, entering the fiercely competitive market for extended-range sport utility vehicles (SUVs).
The company detailed the series at a technology event on Thursday and opened pre-sales for two extended-range SUVs.
The flagship Sky Nomad N90 Max carries a pre-sales price of 299,900 yuan ($44,170), while the slightly smaller N70 Max is priced at 259,900 yuan.

Both are the top-spec versions of their respective lineups, with the official launch set for September. Xiaomi said Pro and standard versions will follow.
Xiaomi Sky Nomad N90 Max:
Chinese consumers can now place a reservation with a 1,000 yuan deposit, which is refundable at any time and grants priority in production scheduling.
The pricing places the N90 Max below the Model Y L, the six-seat SUV from Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA). The latter sells for 339,000 yuan in China and is the six-seat, long-wheelbase variant of the Model Y family.
The N70 Max is priced close to the new-generation Li L6 from Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI), which went on sale in mid-July at 249,800 yuan.
Xiaomi Sky Nomad N70 Max:
This is the first time Xiaomi has expanded its lineup from all-electric vehicles to extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), and the Sky Nomad is its second product series after the SU7 and the YU7.
Xiaomi founder, chairman and CEO Lei Jun said at today's event that cumulative deliveries of the SU7 and the YU7 have surpassed 700,000 units.
The Sky Nomad is built on the new Kunlun technology architecture, a project initiated in early 2023 that took the team about three and a half years to develop.
The architecture comprises three parts: the Kunlun platform, Kunlun super range extension, and Kunlun full-domain safety.
At the platform level, Xiaomi uses a completely flat floor running 2.9 meters from front to rear, at an angle of 2.95 degrees, close to horizontal.
The cabin has six seat rails, the longest measuring 1,938 mm, forming a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout in which the second and third rows can slide substantially fore and aft.
The N90 Max is 5,285 mm long, 1,998 mm wide and 1,825 mm tall, with a 3,080 mm wheelbase and a turning radius of 5.95 meters.
For powertrain, the N90 Max uses dual motors and all-wheel drive with peak power of 310 kW (416 hp), accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 190 km/h.
It has a CLTC all-electric range of 464 km and a combined range of 1,705 km on a full tank and full charge, with WLTC fuel consumption of 6.26 L/100 km when the battery is depleted.
For charging, the vehicle can add up to 285 km of range in 15 minutes, and going from 20% to 80% takes as little as 18 minutes.
The N70 Max offers two battery pack options — a 52 kWh lithium iron phosphate pack and a 76 kWh ternary lithium pack — with a maximum CLTC all-electric range of 505 km.
It also uses dual motors and all-wheel drive, with the front motor rated at 210 kW peak power and the rear at 100 kW.
The Sky Nomad is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform from Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM), as well as the Drive Thor assisted driving chip from Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), offering 700 TOPS of computing power.
Xiaomi HAD (Hyper Autonomous Driving) is standard across the range, and the N90 Max adds a rear-facing solid-state LiDAR.
Xiaomi also unveiled its Dragon Armour (龙甲) battery system, saying it optimizes cell materials and pack structure for the characteristics of range-extended vehicles and exceeds China's national safety standards.
For the body, high-strength steel and aluminum alloy account for 90.4% of the N90 Max, with 2,200 MPa ultra-high-strength steel used at 16 key locations.
The N90 Max can wade through water up to 750 mm deep and is fitted with two wading radars. In an emergency, it can briefly float to escape.
Cabin features include up to four zero-gravity seats, power-rotating front-row seats, a 9-liter compressor refrigerator and a 25-speaker audio system. Trunk space reaches a maximum of 1,831 liters.
Suppliers disclosed by Xiaomi include Harbin Dongan Auto Engine for the range extender, Hesai (NASDAQ: HSAI) for LiDAR, RoboSense (HKEX: 2498) for the solid-state LiDAR, and Bosch for the braking system.
The Sky Nomad is a key part of Xiaomi's 2026 expansion plan. The company has set a full-year delivery target of 550,000 vehicles, about 34% higher than the roughly 410,000 delivered in 2025.
Xiaomi EV delivered 185,055 vehicles in the first half, only about 34% of the annual target.
